Movie Night-Bolt

This week we are learning all about the people in our community who keep us safe.  For movie night we watched “Bolt” from our instant queue on Net Flix and had “2 Alarm Chili”, because I just don’t like it that hot!

My chili recipe comes from my mom.  Its incredibly easy and we have pretty frequently in this house.  Here is the recipe if you want to give it a try.

1 15 oz. Can of Hot Chili Beans
1 15 oz. Can of Mild Chili Beans (We really like Bush’s or Brooks chili beans)
2 packages of Chili Seasoning Mix (Any brand, and if you like really spicy chili, grab one hot and one regular)
1 bottle of V8 “Spicy” Veggie Juice
1 lb. of Ground Beef or Ground Turkey, browned and then drained

Directions:
Brown ground beef or turkey in a dutch oven and then drain.  Add in beans, chili seasoning, and V8.  Turn heat to medium and heat until hot throughout.  How easy is that!!!!???

If you’d like, set out some shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream to add as toppings!

After dinner we watched “Bolt”.  If you haven’t seen the movie, its pretty cute.  The end of the movie is where our theme kind of ties in, but I won’t write a spoiler here.  E loves when we let her watch a WHOLE movie, so she was mesmerized!

If you do this theme night, start early.  Dinner and whole movie is a long night, but with the weather turning cooler, and the sun setting sooner, that might be just what you guys need to keep those kiddos entertained!   On another note, I know that both of us rave about Net Flix.  We are cable free households, so Net Flix is our entertainment!!  We don’t get a commission, and we don’t have stock in Net Flix, we’re just trying to help!

Hope you guys have a great family movie night!
