Must See- My Book About Me

This month we are doing a mini unit called All About Me.  And what better way to learn all about oneself then by writing your very own autobiography!  You can imagine how excited I was when I came across this book.  I thought it would fit in great with our unit, plus it would make a great keepsake!

My Book About MeAffliation Link has an unusual interactive twist--you make it up as you go along. On each page there's something new to complete, from "I weigh ___ pounds" to "My teeth. I counted them. I have ___ up top. I have ___ downstairs." It's a simple idea, but with a surprising amount of educational value--getting children to name their home country, to recognize and draw in the color of their own eyes, learn their telephone number and address, to name favorite clothes, foods, and colors, and more. Finally, there's a two-page spread where each owner of the book can write his or her own story. (Editorial Review by --Richard Farr) Follow the link to take a look inside.

But GUESS WHAT!?!, I found another great way your toddler can make their very own book all about them and it is FREE!   You can create the following custom stories on DLTK’s Growing Together website.

Answer a few questions, print it out and put it all together.  Have fun reading it over and over again.  I  went ahead and printed a black & white copy, so Lil’man could color it.   He loves how the book has his name in it!
