On the Way To Relevant

We were hoping to post several videos while attending Relevant, but the Wi-fi was terrible at the hotel!  Must have been all us bloggers.  Anyway, here is the first and ended up being the only episode of “2 Teaching Mommies On the Road.”

The Relevant Conference

At the beginning of this year, we came to you, our fabulous readers, with a special request.  We needed your support to help us to get to The Relevant Conference. 

Thanks to your generosity and prayers our fundraiser was a huge success! It would not have been possible without your help. We are stoked to tell you that we were able to raise 75% of the funds we needed to attend the conference!!

Of the 75% of funds raised, we donated $100 to Compassion International.  This is how the donation was broken up:

• $65 went to the drought victims in Africa. With this donation Compassion International may provide any one of these things: seven mosquito nets, rice seed to feed an entire family for the whole season, clean water filters, an entire bag of school supplies, first aid kits for families, duck for a family or even an entire family of rabbits.
• The additional $35, which we donated last spring, went to children with highest need at that time.

Amber and I are ecstatic to be able to head to The Relevant Conference this week.  We are busy packing and preparing our hearts to what the Lord will teach us through these amazing speakers.  Our goal is to seek Him first in all we do.  While we are there we hope to learn better ways to serve you and our families, while maintaining a healthy balance.

A Special Thank You

Amber and I want to thank you for your generosity and support of our efforts to attend the Relevant blogging conference this fall. To date you have donated $150 and we are amazed and encouraged by your generosity. Also, as promised, we donated 10% of the donations to Compassion International.

As we continue our fundraising efforts we also humbly ask for your continued prayers. Making this trip is a big commitment for us both in the time away from family and financially. In all things our hope is that our time at Relevant, hearing from the experts and meeting like-minded bloggers, will empower us to provide better resources for you and your little ones.

As we hoped and prayed about Relevant we found out only a few tickets remained so we took a bit of a leap of faith and purchased our tickets! Yep, you heard right, our tickets are purchased and we are looking forward to October!!! 

Again, we are exceedingly grateful for your generosity and support and we appreciate those still considering giving to our cause. Any future donations will go towards helping with our existing financial needs, and we will continue to give 10% of all proceeds to Compassion International.  Your support encourages us as we plan and develop future lessons.  Even today Amber and I were discussing upcoming units. We're excited about what we have planned and look forward to hearing from you as 2 Teaching Mommies seeks to support you as you train up your children.
